Bautri Rescue

When human lives are at stake, reliable and fast equipment is essential. The Bautri Rescue is a mobile tripod rescue system designed specifically for emergency services: a three-legged tripod for securing people (fall protection) and lifting loads of up to 3.3 tons. It was developed for fire departments, technical relief services, and disaster control and combines versatility with a robust, application-oriented design. Whether rescuing people from shafts, recovering debris, or supporting loads, the Bautri Rescue offers maximum safety and easy handling. Tested and CE-certified (including EN 795/B, CEN/TS 16415 for anchor points and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC), this rescue tripod impresses with its dual function: securing up to 3 people at the same time and lifting loads up to 3.3 tons – without additional bracing. This system impresses with facts, not exaggerations.

  • Use of existing EN 1065 columns

A key advantage is compatibility with standardized construction props in accordance with EN 1065. Instead of proprietary special legs, the Bautri system simply uses existing construction and formwork props or equivalent aluminum spindle props (Ischebeck Titan HV, Peri Multiprop). Even an Ischebeck Titan 2 with an asymmetrical hole pattern can be attached. Many units already have such props or can purchase them at low cost – even second-hand. This means massive cost savings and brand independence, as no exclusive components are required. Even small local fire departments and THW local associations can realistically purchase a heavy-duty rescue tripod.

  • Lifting and support function up to 3.3 t – without tensioning

Despite its mobility, the Bautri tripod can lift heavy loads of up to 3.3 tons in both tension and compression. Unlike many rescue tripods, the Bautri Rescue does not require chain bracing or tensioning straps for maximum load capacity—the system remains stable on its own. This saves time during use and reduces tripping hazards at the scene.

  • Tested safety and certification

The Bautri Rescue meets all relevant safety standards and has been tested by an independent body. It is CE certified (including in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC) and has undergone intensive testing by DEKRA. In addition, the system is classified as personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE), certified according to EN 795 and CEN/TS 16415 for simultaneous personal safety, and has a second attachment point in addition to a primary WLL 4 t swivel. This confirmed safety gives emergency personnel confidence – a certified rescue tripod they can rely on.

  • Easy to use - quick setup by one person

In an emergency, speed is of the essence. The Bautri Rescue is designed so that a single person can complete the entire assembly in just a few minutes. All components are pre-assembled on the ground without tools and then erected as a single unit. No laborious lugging around and no complicated handling: with a system weight of only approx. 15 kg (without supports), the head of the tripod is easy enough to position without mechanical assistance. This saves valuable time, energy, and nerves during use.

  • Extremely low maintenance requirements

The Bautri Rescue is a purely mechanical, compact system made of robust metal components – without hydraulics, motors, electronics, or special parts. This makes it virtually maintenance-free. The minimal maintenance required is a major advantage, especially for disaster relief units that often need to keep equipment ready for use over long periods of time. The equipment is ready for use at any time.

  • Cost-effective and versatile

One investment – many possible uses. The Bautri Rescue replaces a range of expensive specialist equipment (such as separate rescue tripods, portable cranes, or support systems), thereby saving money. It need not shy away from comparison with significantly more expensive systems – its performance data and functionality are on a par with solutions that cost many times more. The price-performance ratio is so convincing that even smaller fire departments and volunteer units can afford this mobile rescue tripod without compromising on operational capability.

More Information

Technical data & performance

Maximum load capacity (tension/compression): 3.3 tons (equivalent to approx. 33 kN) with class BD supports in accordance with EN 1065 or equivalent supports at a maximum system height of 3.50 m. 2.5 tons (equivalent to approx. 25 kN) with class B supports in accordance with EN 1065 or equivalent supports at a maximum system height of 4 m. Person capacity: Approved for up to 3 persons at the same time (PPE against falls from a height in accordance with EN 795:2012 Type B, tested for multiple users in accordance with CEN/TS 16415:2017). This allows several rescuers or additional redundancy safeguards to be secured at the same time. System height: Variable up to approx. 4.0 m installation height (depending on the length of the construction supports used). Each support is telescopic and separately adjustable to compensate for different heights and uneven terrain.
Weight and transport: The system (head plate and three foot elements) weighs approx. 15 kg. Added to this is the weight of the three construction supports, which varies depending on the material (steel or aluminum) and length. All components can be stored and transported compactly – ideal for fire department equipment trucks or THW equipment trucks. Compatible props: Standard construction and formwork props in accordance with EN 1065 (classes B and BD) can be used. Equivalent spindle props such as the Ischebeck Titan HV or Peri Multiprop are also compatible, as is the Ischebeck Titan 2 with asymmetrical hole pattern. Recommendation for full load: Class B/D props, extended to a maximum of 3.5 m (for 3.3 t load capacity, see FAQ). Maximum extension length generally 4.0 m. Material and manufacture: The system is made of steel, is galvanized, and also has a KTL coating. Bautri is manufactured in Austria by Form-On (DOKA Group) under strict industrial quality standards. The design is engineered for durability in heavy-duty use. Certifications: CE marking and certification according to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (for the lifting and support function as a load-bearing device). DEKRA test certificate as an anchorage device for PPE (EN 795 / CEN/TS 16415) is available. The system also complies with relevant accident prevention regulations (e.g., DGUV regulations for winches, lifting and pulling devices).

Set up

Assembly is straightforward: screw the components to the floor, erect the tripod, make fine adjustments, attach the hoist to the central anchor point—done. No special tools are required. The screw connections are free of play.

Detailed description

In everyday use by fire departments and technical relief services, it has become apparent time and again that standard rescue tripods quickly reach their limits. Conventional tripod systems, such as those used for working in shafts or as fall protection, are usually only designed for relatively low loads and numbers of people. Often, a maximum of 1–2 people are allowed to work securely on them, and loads exceeding 500 kg are already critical for many of these aluminum tripods. In addition, bracing with chains or straps is often necessary to keep the tripods stable under higher loads. Bautri Rescue breaks through these limitations: The system combines the capabilities of a heavy-duty tripod with those of a certified anchorage device for persons. Three persons can be secured at the same time—for example, two rescuers and one person to be rescued—without compromising safety. At the same time, loads of up to 3.3 tons can be lifted or supported, which would normally only be possible with significantly larger equipment (such as a small crane or special hydraulic supports). This unique dual function makes Bautri Rescue a true three-legged rescue system that can be used quickly and effectively in a variety of situations.

Fire departments and disaster response units in rural areas in particular benefit from this versatility. Where it is not possible to purchase a separate device for every special situation, Bautri Rescue provides an all-in-one solution. A tripod for THW and fire departments that serves equally well as a mobile anchor point for fall protection and as a technical aid for lifting heavy loads. It is so easy to use that even volunteer firefighters from small local fire departments can work safely with it after a brief introduction – no extensive training is required. In an emergency, this saves valuable time: the device is immediately understandable and ready for use, which speeds up the rescue operation. Practical reports confirm the added value: for example, the Fulda THW local association has already successfully introduced the Bautri system. “The Bautri system is an integral part of our rescue team and has proven itself as an operational tool,” reports Jan Fäller, platoon leader of THW Fulda. Within a very short time, it can be used to “set up a reliable tripod system” and “help people in need quickly and professionally – exactly what matters in an emergency.” Such practical experience underscores the reliability and usefulness of the system.

Ease of maintenance also plays a major role for BOS units (authorities and organizations with security tasks). The Bautri Rescue is made of solid steel, with extremely durable connections, and does not require any sensitive technology. This means it can be used for years without the need for costly maintenance or calibration. It takes up little space in storage and can be quickly completed with three matching supports if required. Disaster control warehouses and fire stations, which depend on robust equipment that is available at all times, particularly appreciate these features. In summary, Bautri Rescue offers state-of-the-art rescue technology in a well-designed complete package. From certified safety and high power reserves to practical usability, every detail reflects the requirements of fire departments, THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief), and other organizations. With this tripod rescue system, emergency services are investing in a tool that can save lives and protect property – and that can withstand even the toughest operating conditions. Bautri Rescue is thus establishing itself as a mobile rescue device and will certainly become an indispensable part of the equipment of more and more fire departments and aid organizations in the future.
