About Us
From practical solution to certified system
My name is Oliver Kümmel and I live in Fulda (East Hesse). The development of the Bautri system began with a practical challenge in my own garden: removing a root from a spot inaccessible to machinery. Since digging it out manually was too strenuous, I looked for a more efficient method and had the idea of removing the root using a chain hoist.
Since a support was missing, I constructed a stable tripod from three standard construction props and a self-welded top plate. Wedges ensure stability. This solution worked so well that I offered it in my then-side business, a garden equipment rental company. The increasing demand and purchase inquiries from customers demonstrate the design's potential.
The development from prototype to professional tool
A key advantage quickly became apparent: The system uses standardized construction props (EN 1065), which are inexpensive and readily available almost everywhere. This, combined with the compact design, allowed for straightforward shipping of the system itself, and it quickly found customers throughout Germany.
Due to its flexibility and resilience, the Fulda branch of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) became aware of the product, conducted initial tests, and immediately put it to use for simple rescues from heights and depths. This confirmed another advantage: its compatibility not only with EN 1065 supports, but also with aluminum spindle supports commonly used by THW and fire departments, such as the Ischebeck Titan HV or the Peri Multiprop.
Certified safety and performance
The positive feedback from the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and users in the landscaping and gardening sector, along with the desire of rescue organizations to also use the device for personal safety, led to the decision to professionally develop the Bautri system further. In collaboration with an engineering firm, the design was optimized to obtain the necessary certifications.
The result is a DEKRA-certified system approved for securing up to three people (at a maximum system height of 4 m) and for a maximum tensile and compressive load of up to 3.3 tons . These performance values surpass those of many rescue and tripod systems, even those that are significantly more expensive.
Two lines for specific requirements: Bautri Work & Bautri Rescue
The requirements of the two main target groups – on the one hand, landscaping companies, construction sites, municipalities, and demanding private users, and on the other hand, rescue organizations such as the THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief) and fire departments – have much in common. For both groups, simple, intuitive setup, low maintenance, and performance are crucial. To meet the different approval requirements, the system was divided into two lines:
- Bautri Work: The robust solution for all tensile and compressive tasks in landscaping, on construction sites and in the trades.
- Bautri Rescue: The variant additionally approved for personal safety, for use by fire departments, THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief) and disaster relief organizations.
Our company: Quality, partnership and future
With growing success, Rhönkonzept GmbH was founded, and my wife Magdalena also joined the company. To ensure the highest quality standards, we collaborate with specialized partners. Manufacturing is carried out by Form-On GmbH in Austria, a subsidiary of DOKA GmbH, the world's leading manufacturer of formwork components . Continuous development, particularly for the rescue sector, is carried out in close cooperation with Inventied GmbH , whose founders come from the THW (German Federal Agency for Technical Relief) environment and contribute their practical experience.
Our focus is now on the further development of accessories in order to continuously expand the application possibilities of the Bautri system and to bring new functions to the market.
