What is the Bautri system? The stationary tripod lifting & rescue device explained simply

23.11.2025· Oliver Kümmel

Was ist das Bautri-System? Das stationäre Dreibein-Hebe- & Rettungsgerät einfach erklärt

Anyone working in construction, trades, landscape gardening or industry knows the daily challenges: heavy loads must be moved, often in locations inaccessible to heavy machinery. At the same time, fire brigade and THW personnel face the task of rescuing people quickly and safely from shafts or heights. A crane is often too expensive, too large or logistically impractical.

That is exactly where the Bautri System fills the gap. In this article you will learn how to use this smart system to turn simple construction props into professional lifting or rescue equipment – and why it is particularly worthwhile for users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

What Is the Bautri System?

In short: the Bautri System is a mobile adapter solution that converts conventional construction props into a high-load, stationary tripod.

The system is available in two specialised versions:

Bautri Work: For lifting loads (materials, structural elements, roots).

Bautri Rescue: For securing and rescuing people (PPE-certified).

The concept impresses through simplicity: instead of having to purchase expensive specialist equipment, you use material that is already standard on construction sites in the DACH region.

1. The Core Idea: Cleverly Combined Rather Than Laboriously Transported

The ingenuity of the system lies in its modularity. The Bautri System uses standard construction props to DIN EN 1065. These are bolted together with the special Bautri head and matching feet to form a statically stable tripod.

At the centre, a central anchor point is created. Here you attach a lifting device (e.g. chain hoist) or a fall-arrest device depending on the application.

Important note on use: The Bautri System is designed for stationary use. It serves to lift, hold or lower loads in place. Optional rollers exist only for positioning the empty system or very light loads. It is not a substitute for a mobile crane.

2. Design & Components – Robust and Logical

The system consists of three main components that interlock perfectly:

The Head: The Heart of the System

The Bautri head connects the three props into a stable triangle. It provides structural safety and offers the central anchor point. In the Rescue variant, this point is specially certified for personal protection (PPE against falls).

The Legs: Standard Construction Props

This is where the great economic advantage lies for companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Instead of expensive special legs, Bautri uses standardised construction props.

Advantage: The props are often already in stock or can be rented inexpensively everywhere.

Flexibility: Different prop lengths allow the working height to be varied.

The Feet: Secure Footing on Any Surface

Whether on paving, asphalt, grass or on unpaved terrain: the foot elements safely transfer force into the ground. They protect sensitive surfaces (important in landscape gardening) and ensure stability.

3. Bautri Work vs. Bautri Rescue – Which System for Whom?

To ensure safety, a strict separation of application areas is necessary.

🏗️ Bautri Work – For Loads

This system is the powerful helper for construction companies, tradespeople, landscape gardeners and municipal public works departments.

Application areas:

Pulling roots and tree stumps (without excavators!).

Placing boulders and natural stones.

Lowering shaft components or steel beams.

Maintaining heavy machinery in confined halls or basements.

Focus: Purely for loads. Not approved for persons.

🚒 Bautri Rescue – For Lives

The system for fire brigades, THW, rope rescue teams and industrial facilities with hazardous areas (silos, tanks, channels).

Application areas:

Shaft rescue (e.g. from the sewage system).

Securing emergency personnel at fall edges.

Rescue from confined vessels in industry.

Focus: Certified PPE anchor point for personal protection and rescue.

4. Practical Examples: How the Application Works

What does working with the Bautri look like in practice? Here are two scenarios:

Scenario A: Landscape Gardening (Root Removal in a Private Garden)

An excavator cannot reach the terraced garden or would destroy the lawn.

Assembly: The tripod is bolted from three props, head and feet directly over the tree stump.

Rigging: A chain hoist is attached, the round sling is placed around the root.

Lifting: The root is pulled vertically upwards until it comes loose.

Result: No ground damage, no noise, minimal cost.

Scenario B: Fire Brigade (Person Rescue from Shaft)

A person has fallen into a maintenance shaft. Speed is of the essence.

Assembly: The Bautri Rescue is placed stationarily over the shaft opening.

Securing: The rescue device (fall arrest with lifting function) is attached at the head.

Rescue: A rescuer is secured and lowered, the injured person is drawn up under control.

Result: Standards-compliant rescue with a system that fits on any rescue vehicle.

5. Conclusion: Who Benefits from the Bautri System in the DACH Region?

The Bautri System is the answer to the question: "How do we lift this without ordering a crane?"

For SMEs in construction & trades: It makes you independent of heavy machinery and saves rental costs.

For municipalities & landscape gardeners: It enables work on sensitive surfaces without ground damage.

For BOS (fire brigade / THW): It offers a cost-efficient, rapidly deployable alternative to large aerial platforms or crane vehicles, especially in hard-to-reach locations.
